OHB Hickory Stick Stout

Hickory Stick Stout

Blacker than espresso, this stout beer is deep rich and complex in flavor and character. Strong note of coffee and dark chocolate mingle with ripe fruit and citrus.

Wilson Creek ESB

A classic British-style ale, our ESB is well balanced with earthy hops and British grains giving is a nice biscuity body. One of our most popular brews and now available in 22oz bottles by popular demand.

Black Raven

Black Raven- is a black IPA. Roasted malts give this beer its dark color & rich flavor. But make no mistake, this is still an IPA, with a massive amount of hops selected to balance the roasted malt character & add bitterness & flavor. Now available year-round! 7% abv.

Imperial Stout

A deeper, more intense experience than our Hickory Stick Stout; Imperial Stout is brewed with a lot of malt and a touch of local honey. Rich and robust with deep, deep notes of dark chocolate and espresso. 10.6% alc/vol.

Irish Walker 2011

Irish Walker is brewed with six different malts and a blend of four classic hops. A long, slow fermentation and cold aging makes Irish Walker a well rounded, complex Barley Wine Ale. Exhibiting malty sweetness, fruity esters and hoppy balance this ale will age well for years to come. Only brewed once a year, and we are nearly out of the 2011 batch. Get it while you can!

Death by Hops

Winner of the first Olde Hickory ProAm!

Alex Buerckholtz, owner of Hops & Vines in Asheville, NC, was the winner of the First Olde Hickory Pro Am competition with this very fine beer. Our brew master says: 71lbs of high alpha hops were used to make this beer. That’s just over 20 grams of hops used for each pint! DBH was brewed with 2 row barley, Carapils and Crisp Crystal 45 malts and fermented to 7% alc/vol. DBH was hopped with 5 different West Coast hops: Chinook, Columbus, Simcoe, Centennial and Cascade. Additionally, DBH was twice dry hopped with different combinations of these hops. The net result is an amazing aroma of ripe juicy fruit mixed in with a bouquet of spring flowers. DBH was brewed to a level of bitterness of 108 IBU’s, and leaves a lingering bitterness; it is, after all, a Double IPA! 7% ABV

Seasonal and Limited Production Brews

The Olde Hickory Brewery produces several seasonal beers. These include the Summer Ale from early to mid summer, Oktoberfest in early fall and Christmas Ale (image to the right) arriving in late fall and gone by New Years (at the latest!) All of these beers are brewed in limited quantities, and once gone, don't return for an entire year. We also have experimental, single batch beers, barrel aged beers, and other beers that may only ever be brewed once! Keep an eye out for these brews and don't miss your chance to try them while they're here!

Weizen-Bock

Brewed with malted wheat and barley, imported German hops and a special Bavarian yeast strain. With notes of banana, spicy cloves and coriander.  Similar to an Hefe-Weizen, but with more of everything! 8.0%abv.

Southern Cross

We began with a classic pilsnerand amped it up with a ton of hops from New Zealand.  A great way to experience the newest hop trend in craft beer (hops from New Zealand are getting hard to find!) and soon to be available in bottles!

Eiraphiotes - Coming 1/27

Eiraphiotes is a very limited relase. An Imperial Pilsner  aged in chardonnay barrels, it begins with a hoppy, floral nose, with a hint of grape skins. Fruity, medium body on the palate, with a malty sweetness, hints of grapes, a slight acidity and oaky dryness. Hops first on the finish, followed by sweet malt and finally dry oak. Available for a short time throughout NC in 750ml bottles and on tap in just a in a few locations.

We have many of your favorite classic Olde Hickory Brewery beers available as minikegs as well. 1.3 gallons (about 14 twelve oz servings) of easy to transport and easy to serve beer. No extra equipment required and they fit easily into your refrigerator. And now we also have Table Rock Pale Ale, Hefe-weizen, Hickory Stick Stout, Ruby Lager, Piedmont Pilsner, Wilson Creek ESB, Irish Walker 2011, Black Raven, Death by Hops and Imperial Stout available in 22oz bottles!
